Hi, I’m Baz and I’m the drummer from Paperweight!

 

I was born and raised in the heart of Melbourne

growing up around musicians within the family.

I was captivated by the drums when I was 10 years old seeing my cousin perform and started taking lessons when I was 12.

Primarily influenced by rock and metal music from the 70’s and 80’s such as Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Metallica, Pantera as well as the punk rock and Nu metal wave in the early 2000’s I found myself having the most fun during my high school years behind the kit.

I joined my first band after leaving high school though.

I joined a punk rock band called Hopes Abandoned

and it was my first experience at live performance outside of school and my first recording experience. I was part of the band for about 2 years until I chose to leave to take a break from music and focus

on career prospects.

About 4 years later Paperweight happened and it’s been the best thing to happen to me musically, ever.

The band was formed during the global pandemic. 2020 wasn’t a great year but we were one of the good things to happen.

We’ve released some awesome singles so far and have just released our latest song “Tracks”. We’ve managed to play a sold-out show at Stay Gold,

sign on to Open Door management and are super keen to play Knight and Day Festival to close out 2021!
