Michael first became mesmerised by the drum kit when hearing the all mighty Slipknot for the first time. It wasn't long after that he began watching hours of Joey Jordison YouTube videos, desperately wanting to emulate those fast double kicks.
Michael started drumming at 14 years of age, taking weekly lessons through his high school.
It wasn't until his later high school years through VCE that he started to take drumming seriously.
During this time his musical tastes shifted from the metal world to more alternative rock, punk and post-hardcore genres, which ultimately would change the way Michael would approached his drumming.
A Day To Remember, Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dance Gavin Dance, Hands like Houses and Dead Letter Circus were all on high rotation.
Joining Melbourne Pop Punkers 'Just About Done'
in 2015 Michael has been fortunate enough to play some massive shows with the likes of Slowly Slowly,
Between You and Me, Stuck Out and The Hard Aches.
Recently releasing their EP 'I Am Getting By', along
with a three part music video series which
follows a continuous narrative throughout! The remainder of 2018 looks huge for Michael and if he already didn't have enough going on 'Just About Done' have been named as support for 'The Wonder Years' and
'Boston Manor' on their upcoming 'Good Things' side show in Melbourne! Stoked is understatement!
Welcome to the family Michael!
