After growing up on a healthy diet of classic rock

and metalcore, James played in several bands

with the local bogans in Palmerston North, New Zealand, throughout his teens.

He then went on to complete

a Jazz Performance honours degree on

the drum kit at The New Zealand School of Music —

Te Kōkī in his early 20’s. 

 

Near the end of his studies he returned to his heavier roots by joining Banks Arcade and moving to Melbourne with the band. 

 

After securing a record deal with UNFD, James and Banks Arcade have begun to make a name for themselves in the Australian heavy music scene and beyond.

 

They are now preparing for a packed schedule of festival performances, studio recording and touring across the UK, AUS and NZ throughout the remainder of 2022 - plus the upcoming release of their debut album through UNFD.
